Here's the story behind the posters. The attachment is the poster. (poster coming soon)

At LCU there's a group called "Arms Against War." This is a group of people who wear white armbands in protest of all wars but especially the war in Iraq. They have met on campus at LCU and held prayer vigils to pray against the war and for peace.
Jeremy Arnold, a student at LCU and fellow member of Army ROTC, thought there should be raised awareness and support for those who don't agree with the "Arms Against War" group. So he put up these "Pray for Victory" posters (see attachment). Jeremy went to the student affairs at LCU and asked permission to hang up these posters across Campus. All posters were reviewed and given a stamp of approval by LCU before any were posted on campus. After he had put several posters in every building across campus for two days he came back to campus to find that most of his posters had been pulled down. Of those left up all but three had graffiti all over them attributing his poster to evil dictators and claiming his poster endorsed murder. . So Jeremy went back to the student affairs office with more posters to get stamped and replace the ones that had been torn down and gratified on.

The Student affairs said they could no longer give their approval to put up any more posters. Apparently some professors had voiced opposition to the posters and some students went to the student senate with complaints. The complaints were against the pictures of soldiers carrying weapons and the phrase "pray that they achieve victory" in the poster. So Jeremy began asking who he should go see about getting his posters put back up. A meeting was then set up between the President of Student Affairs, Vice President of Student Affairs, Jeremy, Myself (Daniel Ridley), and the Dr. who had first voiced opposition to the poster.

Between this time and the meeting some students began putting up posters with pictures of malnourished kids in foreign countries with sayings such as, "Love your enemies," and "Pray for those who persecute you." Jeremy has said since his posters were first being pulled down that if people didn't agree with his poster they should put up their own poster right next to his; or they could just be adults and ignore his poster. These posters with the pictures of the kids on them did not have the stamp of approval from LCU so after we brought the poster to the attention of the student affairs office they began to be taken down.

At the meeting the Dr. that opposed the posters said he believes that LCU was wrong in taking down the posters after they had approved them because it displays a double standard, but that he believes that they shouldn't have been put up in the first place. The President of Student Affairs said the reason they took the posters down was because they were being gratified on and that it is standard procedure to take down posters that have been drawn on. Jeremy asked if he could then put up more clean posters to which they answered no. Jeremy said he wouldn't mind taking down gratified posters and putting up new ones everyday if he needed to but his offer was again rejected. The Student affairs office wants him to reword his poster so that it can be properly displayed. Jeremy said the poster is already properly displayed and that he wasn't going to reword the poster. So as of now the student affairs has said that they would rather not give us permission to put up posters, "We're not saying no." is what they said, "but we'd rather not." Well we can't put them up until they give us permission so they are saying no.

LCU is showing a double standard by allowing the "Arms Against War group to have meetings on campus but won't allow the pray for victory posters to be displayed on campus.
