Alas, Robert. It is indeed a sad day for our liberties. But one thing that is becoming painfully obvious to the entire community through all of this is that Anita Burgess is being exposed for the dual side of the mouth speaker that she is. These two paragraphs from Eric Finley's story in the A-J say it all:

" District Judge Ruben Reyes didn't say why he lifted the order. But he did so after city attorney Anita Burgess said barring the two sides from speaking to the media was interfering with "a controlling issue" in May's election."

"The city of Lubbock "is not supporting David Miller or Tom Martin as candidates," Burgess told the judge. "But we are supporting the rights of those candidates to have free political speech."

Makes me gag to hear the double speak.
