Robert,

I have been thinking about the politics in our city hall. There must be something being piped into the chambers through the air systems. Within being elected and taking office, most (Yes I said most) start acting like they are invincible. They become LEGENDS IN THEIR OWN MIND.

I also have a way to save money with the visitor center. We should combine the city hall and the visitor center together. Then everyone that is being paid by our tax money could work a shift at the 24 hr visitor center as part of their pay. That way we won't have to pay anymore for staffing the center, and who else knows more about the city than our own elected officers and staff. This needs to include our city manager , city attorney, and anyone else that thinks this is better than the web site or kiosks. Also we need a report each quarter about how well this center is doing, preferably on a news report on TV or on radio with questions from the Lubbockites.

Just a thought.

Carrie

P.S. Another thought about the visitor center: Why don't we have a pay parking? If you are visiting the center upon leaving the computer will give you a number to get out without paying. Kind of like the voting machine, no two numbers will be the same. That way a daily number won't be able to be given to anyone wanting to use the parking for the Cactus Courtyard. The money collected can pay for maintenance on the parking lot for years. I'm not talking about a quarter a hour but maybe $5.00 a hour, or you won't get out or you could be towed. If someone stayed at the Courtyard for 4 hrs that would be a $20.00 fee. Maybe Jones wouldn't want the center at that location.
