Hello,
In a conversation I recently had with you during your show I mentioned I had written a letter to the editor voicing my view on the "best candidates" for the upcoming election. I also mentioned Miller's "cave person" comments. Since the editors at the AJ express their opinion I thought it was only appropriate I be given the same opportunity. Well, you were right. They are not going to print it. The paragraph below is what I received from Joe Hughes.
"At election time, The A-J editorial board does not publish letters either endorsing or criticizing any political candidate or party. The board believes there are other more appropriate means to show your support of, or your opposition to, a particular political campaign."
I called and spoke to Mr. Hughes and he said "we get to have our say and
no one else does." That's what he said word for word! Can you believe the
arrogance? I immediately canceled my subscription.
I want to thank you again for what you do. As a citizen I am outraged, but not
surprised, at the one sidedness of the media. Without you and Chad H. we would
never know the truth.
Thanks,
Marci
Pratt responds:
I don't mind them having their say exclusively as it is their newspaper. But, why have letters to the editor if you will not print them? Seems a bit off. I wonder if mayor-man Miller supports this attitude as he seems to think that members of the press should not be able to express their opinions. Oh I forgot, the AJ lauds him. - Birds of a Feather...
