Pratt,

I almost flipped out this morning when I heard our senator Randy N. say that he was going to support Kay for governor "because they are good friends..." That certainly is making me think twice about Randy. I found that unbelievable!

Let's see, I think I have heard you time and again, and very recently at that, DON'T SUPPORT SOMEONE BECAUSE THEY ARE A GOOD FRIEND OR YOU "LIKE THEIR PERSONALITY..." and here is one of our elected "leaders" doing that very thing...If Randy doesn't get this straight, you'll be the first to know that I will not vote for him ever again. I am truly FROSTED!!! (P.Oed in other words!) I intend to write to Randy as well and let him know his thinking (for our governor) is bad for Texas.

Keep up the good work. Thank God we have you for a voice out here. Calm me down if you can...

Glenda

Pratt responds:

I can't calm you down because Congressman Neugebauer has been part of the Kay Hutchison, "we're the chosen ones", crowd from the beginning. Same campaign consultants, etc. - just as is the new Delwin Jones challenger Zach Brady.

While I've been fairly pleased with Neugebauer's voting record, many would be surprised at his involvement in the collapse of the housing market. He is twisted up in the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae scandals and is said to have opposed Bush Administration efforts to reform - I've not the evidence for that. But, it is clear that Neugebauer teamed with a Democrat to weaken certain regulatory aspects.
