Hey Robert,

I was listening to the interview with the coaches on KFYO and it struck me that what they had to say reveals a lot of what's wrong with this country. One coach said we needed new soccer fields because the present ones are dangerous with holes everywhere. He said his mother broke her arm just walking across one of the fields, "...stepped in a hole she couldn't even see." When asked why they would allow the kids to play on the fields if they were so dangerous, his answer was, "Because they like soccer, it's a very popular sport."

Now, if we substitute sex for soccer in that line of thought we can understand the lunatic liberal thought process a lot of people have.

It isn't the government's business to furnish soccer fields, and certainly not to furnish new ones every time the old ones get holes in them. I would think it's the parents and coaches responsibility to check the fields before play and be certain that they are safe. If holes are found they can get a shovel and fill them in.

It's a parent's and a coach's responsibility to be certain that the kids are playing in a safe place and if it isn't safe to either make it safe or call off the game...even if the kids whine about it.

Yep, the kids like soccer so it's the government's job to furnish the fields and maintain them; they like sex, it's very popular, so it's the government's job to furnish condoms and teach "safe sex"...parents need to grow up and quit expecting the government to do their parenting.

Pratt responds:

I'd simply add that when you write "government" it means taxpayers - all of us being compelled to support the hobbies of others.
