Robert,

As an early retiree from Xcel Energy, I wanted to tell you the comments on your web page regarding the sale of Xcel's system are right on target. Lubbock utility customers are really going to lose the benefits associated with the two electric utilities. The Lubbock market was significant to SPS when LP&L operated its own generating plants. SPS was a local company and Lubbock and Amarillo were the largest cities they served. Lubbock never fit the ideal regulated utility model and our special deals here were a source of irritation the corporate minds. Now with the size of Xcel Energy, 8th in the country I think, the Lubbock market has become insignificant to them.

I enjoy your show, keep up the good work. I have recommended the web site to several of our transplanted family and friends that need Texas news, and a solid conservative voice.

Tommy P
