Check this link out--it shows a picture of the climate controlled shed that poor Adam James was required to sit in after showing up at practice with sunglasses on and a smart aleck attitude---further, there is a description of the second location, which is NOT an electrical closet or even a closet at all !
This is crazy. Public schools isolate children on a daily basis either to prevent disruption or to attempt to modify behavior through negative reinforcement!!!
My wife , LeAnn remarked that if Coach Leach is getting suspended for making a player sit by himself during a practice, then I probably should be in the Huntsville prison for some of my motivational ploys! As a former youth coach, I now need to acknowledge that ,on rare occasions, I may have punished young men in a much more vigorous manner than Coach Leach. I am willing to be suspended with pay and will allow my employer to continue to handle this situation to a reasonable and sane conclusion, where NOBODY wins and everyone looks foolish.
It is my sincere recommendation to the Texas Tech Athletic department that, in the future, we avoid recruiting spoiled and privileged children who have a parent working for a major sports network (ESPN). It just puts the University in too awkward of a position.
