Pratt,
Left the office and got in my car to drive home last night. Was hoping to hear you, but was reminded that it was late enough for Levin. (almost as good as you, but not) Anyway, Levin was preempted by the debate. I was about 3 minutes into it when KBH opened a retort with "there you go again". I shouted to no one, "What, she's pretending to be Reagan!"
What was KBH thinking to try to put herself in the Reagan mold by copying his schtick? What adviser in their right mind would encourage her to mimick another persona in the moment when it was paramount that Kay be Kay? Who in the audience could bear to listen without cringing as a tenured U.S. Senator resorted to such amateurism. My oh my, I couldn't take it and was constrained by self respect to turn the radio off. (There aren't any AM stations in Lubbock besides 790, are there?)
Speaking of right minds, what is former Vice President Cheney thinking? He's going to juxtapose himself to Sarah Palin, Perry's right hand endorsement, and expect to come out on top? Sheesh, either he's tone deaf or Kay's calling in some monstrous chits on him. I've never been in politics, but I can't imagine chits like that originating anywhere outside of a bedroom. I prefer to deduce Cheney is tone deaf. A sad mitigation of greatness.
Anyway, for the few minutes I listened I did get to hear Rick Perry do no one other than himself. Rick was Rick, and it came across really well in that moment. I expect that the rest was the same. I'll listen to you tonite to find out more about it. Hopefully, you subjected yourself to the whole thing. It's a tough job, but you're the right man.
Many thanks for your show.
