I’ve had an impression for some time that Todd Klein is positioning himself to be the Democrats’ stealth candidate for who-knows-what office in the future. He appears to be conservative on some issues. He always is given positive treatment by the A-J as a benevolent humanitarian, always taking up for the underdog (as long as it is expedient). He has latched onto a no-lose situation by backing the location of a veterans’ hospital in Lubbock. Who could be against that? And he went on Chad’s show and dissed the Arizona immigration law, using the Democrat standard line “detaining someone because he looks different.”
