While I was chairman of the Lubbock
County Republican Party, Cory wrote me a letter which he requested to be
shared with all. H wrote, in part, the following:
“It is a lot easier knowing you all support me back home, you
don't know what it means to me… I am in now is a secure site and no
pictures or intel are allowed out. I will be back to a base camp soon
enough though and I will share my adventures with you. I can tell you
I have seen the price paid for freedom.
“I only ask that you don't talk bad about our efforts here or let any
body else. We are doing good things here.
“Who are we to stand by and watch and say it is wrong to intervene
while other people fight for the same freedom given to us at birth?
They are truly grateful to us for our help. Everyone hangs on to hope.
These people are willing to follow you anywhere if you give them a
glimpse of hope…
“Count your blessings. These people have nothing. Their homes are in
ruins and they are still living in them, with no place to go, and they
still took the time to tell us MERRY CHRISTMAS and God bless you.
America has its flaws I know but we are truly a blessed nation of
plenty, give a little even if it's just your time.”
Specialist Lucas’ words should be
considered by all and trusted far more than those of media pundits who
criticize from a safe distance. Pratt on Texas joins with Cory Lucas in
asking all citizens to support our troops AND our mission in the Middle
East.
